Real Estate Analyst Camp
The Real Estate Analyst Camp is built specifically for the professional who is working, or will be working, for a Real Estate Private Equity (PE) fund, Hedge Fund, large Institutional Bank, or institutional Developer.
A true real estate professional should possess knowledge in a variety of real estate disciplines that are interrelated. Also, a professional cannot build a comprehensive real estate cash flow model if the core understanding of real estate finance and the knowledge of practical deal structuring is missing.
This is an entry-level to intermediate financial modeling training that will prepare you for more advanced deal structures as your learning progresses.
In this training, you will learn:
- How to build a commercial acquisition real estate model
- How to develop a real estate development model
- Industry utilized “back of the envelope” analysis
- How to build a full discounted cash flow model (DCF)
- Practical real estate finance and due diligence
- Basic underwriting fundamentals
- Detailed explanations of Leveraged and Unleveraged IRR’s and other relevant financial metrics used in the industry.
- Building Sensitivity tables in Excel
- Formatting and error proofing your financial models
- How to build components for your financial models (construction schedule, amortization schedule, Absorption schedule)
- Financial Structuring of acquisitions and developments
Is this training right for you?
If you do not have a FIRM understanding of advanced real estate finance, deal structuring, or history in building real estate cash flow models in excel, then this is the training for you.
This is introduction training to real estate financial modeling that will help you learn about the assumptions that go into a real estate cash flow statement and more importantly, the intuitive understanding of each of these assumptions.
If you learn well through real world application then you will retain a high percentage of the training content. Our training methodology uses case studies to drive core concepts and skills necessary for the workplace.
What you will be able to apply after taking this training?
- Able to speak intelligently about a commercial real estate acquisition or development.
- Possess the fundamentals of how these deals are structured and how they are value.
- Able to build a basic real estate proforma from scratch.
- Able to sensitize this model and provide answers to commonly asked questions from your superiors.
- Understand basic leasing concepts and their inherent value on a commercial building. You will then apply valuation techniques such as IRR partitioning to determine the value from operational cash flow and ultimate resale.
